Groups

We offer youth outdoor skills and therapy groups through our Pathfinders Program.  These groups are designed to engage young people in low-impact activities such as hiking to get outside and work with both a licensed therapist and an experienced outdoors leader in a fun environment.  Groups help others understand that many people experience the same feelings and situations and kids learn important skills and qualities such as empathy, confidence, resiliency, and effective communication.
Each group begins with a topic overview where psychoeducation is provided, and then a group discussion is led by the peers.  Throughout the adventure, natural conversations can be linked with the day's lesson and at the end of the group, there will be a reflection and overall sharing of ideas and discoveries.
The goal for these youth groups is to help link social opportunities with normalizing talking about our stresses, emotions, and perspectives, while learning how to relate to others and have growth mindsets.
